Det går rundt for oss, – veldig rundt!

I “Mind and Nature”, (1979), beskriver Bateson spiralformen som kjennetegnende på nettopp levende liv på alle størrelsesnivåer, fra DNA til galakser.

Står du helt stille rett opp og ned beveger du deg fortsatt ganske fort avgårde. Er du langs ekvator farer du fremover i 1667 km.t. Her oppe i Norge ca 1000 km.t ,avhengig av hvor langt nord du er. Vi snakker med andre ord om jordas rotasjon om sin egen akse.

Men bevegelsen din stopper ikke der. Jorda du står på beveger seg med en fart på 107 200 km/t rundt sola.  I tillegg beveger hele solsystemet seg rundt sentrum av vår galakse Melkeveien med en hastighet på litt mer enn 800 000 km/t.

Heller ikke der stopper bevegelsen.  Melkeveien beveger seg også i retning av vår nabo Andromeda-galaksen (avbildet på Selvuniversets startside) med en fart på cirka 470 000 km/t.  I tillegg kan det se ut som hele vår lokale galaksehop farer i en voldsom hastighet på 2 mill. 2 hundretusen km/t.  mot en gigantisk hop av galakser som ligger 150 millioner lysår borte. (The Great Attractor)

Noe å tenke på når vi løper til bussen neste gang, eller skal rekke et tog!
